What's an RDN?

Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) are food and nutrition experts who have met the following criteria to earn the RDN credential:

Typically, a practice program will run six to 12 months in length. *Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). For more information regarding the examination, refer to CDR’s website at www.cdrnet.org.

*Completed continuing professional educational requirements to maintain registration.

What's a health Coach?

Most people know what to do, yet we don't do what we know.

Right?  We all have those places in our lives.  We know what to eat, and when to go to bed, and that exercise is good for us.  Why don't we do it?  Because we all have blind spots that stop us from taking actions that are consistent with our goals, A Health Coach helps us get rid of those barriers so we can get the results we want. They take us from "that's a good idea" to "I'm doing it now and reaping the rewards."

And when we need to regroup because life throws us curve balls, they help us prioritize our goals and get back in the arena,

and get on living our healthiest, most vibrant lives!

It's the difference between playing around with your health vs: knocking it out of the park.

About Mimi Ellis, PA-C

Mimi started her health care career in 1993 as a Registered Dietitian, then continued on to become a Physician Assistant 2000. She has been a practicing PA ever since, working in General Surgery, Ob/Gyn, and more recently Otolaryngology. Feeling the constraints of managed care and the limitations it places on a practitioner’s time with patients, she searched for additional ways she could help them actually follow through and implement the changes needed to live healthier lives. She became a Certified Health Coach in 2020, through the National Society of Health Coaches. She currently wears all three hats, and combines them with an interest in a more holistic approach to healthcare.  Through one-on-one and group coaching she helps patients tackle the barriers that stand between them and living their healthiest life. Having an impaired sense of smell and taste since 2017, she’s especially good at making healthy food taste great! Ms Ellis teaches an Intuitive Eating / non diet approach to nutrition, and has practiced this approach herself for over thirty years after a decade of yo-yo dieting and weight cycling.

She wants you to know she’s not the food police, and

although food can be medicine, it has to taste good!

She has recently passed the Registration Exam for Dietitians again and reclaimed her RD credential in GA dietetics license (after having resigning the RD credential in 2003).
